I’m getting a trailer hitch and a bike rack!

I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been and I hate it. It has destroyed what little self-esteem I had and I’m just tired of being fat and tired all the time. I’m embarrassed that I let myself get this way.

I have a nice bike. But, it’s difficult to take it anywhere with both cars having car seats for the kiddos and the S10 being gone (not that going anywhere in it was fun, anyway, with the lack of A/C and non-existent exhaust pipe).

I’ve decided that if I can take my bike to the local parks, I will ride it more and get more exercise. Enter the following:

The hitch doesn’t look bad once installed, which makes me happy.

I have done my research and I have  decided that this is what I want to go with. I would outfit the Highlander with this setup, but hitches for it are more expensive and difficult to install. Probably because it’s more likely to pull a trailer. That, and when I’m off riding my bike, my wife will prefer to have the Highlander for the kids.

I’m also planning on us putting both of our bikes on the 6’s bike rack and going riding some when we have a babysitter.

Here’s an installed picture of the hitch I’m getting:

Oh, and I found a Mazda hitch cover for it as well for when I’m not using it.

I found out that the 6 has pre-drilled holes in the frame for a hitch, so all you have to do is bolt on it. Took most reviewers 30 minutes or less to install it. Win!

Congratulati ons! Getting motivated to exercise is hard, especially if gyms aren't your thing (like me), but bike rides have varied enough scenery I usually can have fun at the same time. Physical fitness can do wonders for lifting your spirits too (not that I've ever been that fit, but I like exercise).

I wanted to get into biking. BUT they are sold out everywhere, I got a yoga mat to help with stretches and keep my body limber.

Stretching is very good for not just your body but really overall frame of mind. I’m not that serious about biking so I just ride whatever isn’t terrible I can borrow, since my own bike is certifiably terrible.

BTW you can apply for posting privileges at the #clubopenings bar at the top but Party-Vi has been absent for quite a while. I really should make a posting tutorial because that part is also really hard to figure out.

+1 for etrailer I bought all of our nice racks and accessories from them. I have Amazon junk on mine but it works and I got crossbars and two bike trays for $150.

Get something like this. Not this exact one, it’s crazy expensive. Bring the kids with and skip the baby sitter.

I’ve tried going to the gym and I hate it. Plus, I can’t ever seem to find the time or the motivation. I’m hoping the natural scenery of the park plus the exercise from bike riding (and my music) will help.

My bike is a Walmart special from just out of college (a.k.a. eight years ago). It gets the job done but it’s nothing special.

Same here. I don't even lift, bro, because that atmosphere just doesn't motivate me. I'd much rather be lost in my thoughts, the music, and the scenery over a distance, feeling the wind in my face.

I went yesterday! And they were all sold out, so no bike for me currently.
